Liquid Kelly

Liquid Kelly is a fiberglass 1:1 scale redesign of the iconic armour of bushranger Ned Kelly, to provide a beacon of acknowledgement of groups that have been outlawed, murdered and discriminated against over hundreds of years. Their causes still remain, and spirit and intent cannot be killed.

Bernie Clifford is the artist responsible for creating the sculpture concept and design. It was then produced by a collaboration with artisan Elizabeth Surtees.

Artist in Focus

EMMANUEL BOAHENE

Emmanuel Boahene is a 22-year-old artist working in the fields of painting and sewing. His artworks generally spawn from thoughts and emotions, as he uses real life places and objects to express a feeling or a theory. A lot of the images in his works are derived from the live action sketches he makes in a notebook when going about his day.

As an artist who is always asking why things are the way they are, he attempts to visually describe messages that cannot be translated into word.

'Don't Forget You're an Animal' will be showing in the front gallery from May 3rd – May 17th.
